After BBQ became Season-3 Champions [info] on April 8 2001, Season-4 was started on May 7 2001 and ran until the Summerbreak of June 17... Now that the summerbreak is almost over the ladder-season will be reactivated again... here is the latest news:

The ChampionsLeague welcomes its two new Q2CTF admins!

Mange and Weasel will help us run the nordic q2ctf scene now that Murvel and kotti are occupied elsewhere. Welcome guys! We would also like to thank everyone that applied, thanks for showing your interest.

As a primary task we will now focus on the proxy issue, trying to sort out suitable alternatives to Xania. The clanleaders of the current q2ctf clans will be receiving an e-mail shortly asking them for their clans' opinion. Stay tuned, the ladder will be activated soon. 		ChampionsLeague

Q2 Site News - source: Slave @ SavageUniverse

A couple of things have happened over the last week that will be of interest to the Q2 community here in the UK and beyond ..

First of all Q2Central (now hosted by Savage) has had a site redesign, its looking good so go check it out.

Second is the start of a new Q2 news site called Q2Gamer covering all of the UK q2 scene as well as looking further a field. With Q2Gamer only being open for a couple of days they are still on the lookout for peeps to help out. If you fancy it give Flake (flaky@ukonline.co.uk) a heads up.

Given that sites like QuakeNation don't think of doing Q2 news anymore (if they ever did!) and stick with Q3 both are welcome to the, still going strong, UK scene.

Week 5 (maps wctf3/ctf2) went okey, a few too many postponements which was disappointing because with Savage not running (due to SavLAN2) it would have been a good week to catch up on games. We lost a few clans this week as there was a surprisingly large number of foldings, XTC, dV, 5e & p4 amongst those who will not see the season out.

Next week: Using CP1 for the 2nd time this season in Week 6, it produced some good games when used back in Week 3 and i expect the same here.

Sunday 12 August 2001 01:55:52 : Just finished watching the Final of the Savage Euro Q3CTF CUP, and Germany took it in a close fought battle.

First up Germany beat England by 3-1 on Q3WCTF2, and then England won 2-0 on the same map played again, the next map (CTF2) saw Germany win 2-1 which meant Germany needed just one more win to secure victory, However the next map (CTF3) was a draw which saw England go 1-0 up, then Germany go 2-1 up and then England level again.

Germany now needed just a draw to take the championship, but England had Whez back (missing for the previous maps, but instrimental in England beating Belgium earlier in the day) The map was Q3WCTF3 and Germany went 1-0 up quite quickly, but Whez levelled the score (whilst GTV was watching Ranger void) then some very good flag runs by whez and ranger ended in failure as the germans (with some lucky spawns) managed to prevent the caps, No such misfortune for the German flag runners as they went on to cap twice more.

So gg England WP Germany!
