VSE v 6Pac ... Last war for VSE !
We just beat 6pac 11-2, and that was the last clan to get a shot at us for the #1 position in OGL. We're going inactive in the Q2CTF scene, and withdraws from all leagues.
Why? We have a pretty long history in the Q2CTF, we've proved to be among the very best, and we have nothing more to prove in Q2CTF. For us the time has come to look forward to the next generation of games, since many of our members has begun to do so.
VSE will not vanish, you may not take our players. :P VSE 4ever is a saying we've used, and it's still valid. Thank you to every cool Q2CTF player and clan out there. There have been many many ggs. BBQ, the scene is yours, take good care of her. C u in the next scene!

We won over clan [ddb] in and ogl fight. we played 2 x 15 min, first on tnx where we won 5-1, and then 15 min on bbq server where the game was tied 2-2. the map we played was ctf 3. we are now #3 again in ogl :) - [Ip7]jox -

noll8 v TAWM
We played an intresting fight yesterday against [TAWM], The map that was played was ctf4a, cause we wanted to have some varriation. TAWM was kinda surprised when we choosed ctf4a and didnīt thought we should choose that one. o8 was blue and we started out pretty good owning the first quad. We had about 80% quadown. Our basedeff Chorty was given amp and had good control in our sweet base. We had a hard pressure on TAWM and we managed to cap 6-0. - [o8]MAZE -

BBQ v OSS (5-1)
We had little problems to cap, because they killed almost all of our FCs to middle. Well they where on lan so it wasnt so hard job to block FCs. Anyway we made fife caps against their one, and won. - BBQ Prayer -

OGL HUD Timer Policy - Part II

Just to clear up any misunderstanding regarding my previous news post on the illegal use of automatic item timers... This does NOT include the use of .wav files and timing binds (ie. 60 second .wav quad timers for Q2 and grenade timers for TFC). The above methods of item timing have always been permitted and will continue to be. If you have any further questions, feel free to email me: jordan@ogl.org

Q2CTF2k1 - Darclomon's Altar - by MapLAB

Because I manage the PR stuff of MapLAB I had the opportunity to try a new CTF map yesterday... The name of the map is Darclomon's Altar (q2ctf2k1) and is still under development... Take a look at the screenshots... It looks very, very nice.

We have developed a new building technic wich decreases VIS time (full vis) with about 50% and it also cuts down on the WPoly count (World polygons in view: the lower the better), portalclusters and numportals.

For example:
Look at the first shot, looking towards the flag from that point only gives a WPoly count of 143.

If you are standing behind the flag en make a turn of 360 then the highest WPoly count you get is 350. This is also the highest wpoly possible for this map from any location. Most locations give a avarage WPoly count of 250. For compareson: In q2ctf1 if standing behind the flag and turn around the highest wpoly count is 563 and in ctf5 wpoly=411. (from chaingun view it is 475).

We also splitted editing tasks into "building jobs" and "lightning jobs" wich means that someone only builds the level and another one takes care of the light.

Shot of the Week

A few days ago Diger and I decided to promote ClanBase while we were playing Quake3... I wrote the "C" on the wall with my Lightning-gun (sort of) and Diger wrote the "B"...
Teamwork was needed because the amount of ammo wasn't sufficient to write both "C" and "B".

Note that the "C" looks better then the "B" :)
