VSE v ASF ASF Report:
Chaotic but fun game against VSE.
When we challenged VSE in OGL they gave us McKinley Revival, Stronghold
Opposition, and Bletey's Blues to choose from. Since we've never played Bletey's
Blues before we thought it might be fun to try it. And it was!
Unfortunately, the result wasn't as fun as the map which was played on a TnX
server. Although it was great running around and rail each other all the time, our
non-existent TP on this map made them cap 13 times too many. We managed to
cap once and kill them 189 times (they killed us more though - damned 15-ping
lps =), but it wasn't enough...of course. GG VSE!
With some practice on this map it'll be great for CW's, since the map (rtctf1a) is
strategically well-balanced, lots of open rail areas, not too much ammo, armour,
and cells for the PS (you die a lot). It plays a bit like a mix of ctf1, ctf2 and some
RA2 map, but at the same time completely different. Fun!

VSE Timer and the OGL
The OGL has spoken
I received word from Razorcut late last night that they have made an official decision on whether the VSE timer will be legal to use within the OGL Q2 Ladders.

Here is what Razorcut had to say:
Even though I personally disagree with the use of timers like that and since
it still does (appear) to require manual intervention like the plain 'ole quad
timer, I don't see any reason to ban its use. If it's truely evil and is a
cheat, we'll hear about it either in e-mail or the OGL BBS. This doesn't
seem to be a hot topic for either case at this time; I'd rather listen to the
gamers in this case.
