SavageUK Q3CTF Season1 starts this Sunday! - by [savage]Slave

Just a quick heads up to remind people that the SavageUK q3ctf League Season1 starts this Sunday at 5pm .. and a small run down of some of the rules ..

With 5 Divisions this is looking to be the biggest q3ctf League in the UK if not Europe and due to the Season0 leveler defaults should be a thing of the past.

Here's the map list for this season:
* Week 1 - q3ctf2
* Week 2 - q3ctf3
* Week 3 - q3wctf1
* Week 4 - q3wctf2
* Week 5 - q3wctf3
* Week 6 - q3mlctf2
* Week 7 - q3mlctf4

As you can see, as well as the 3Wave maps we will be also using a couple of the MapLabs maps from the MapLabs Pak. You can download this and see some details about the maps here: MLCTF Online Manual

The rules page will be updated over the next couple of days to show the latest rule set. One thing that needs to be pointed out is that we will be using a '3 up 3 down' system within the q3ctf League. This, we are hoping, will help clans go up (or down) divisions a bit faster and allow a continuation of division balancing that Season0 started off.

Matches will consist of 2x20min games just like the q2ctf League with teams swapping sides at halftime. Points will also work along the same lines as the q2ctf League with 3points for a win and 1point for a draw. If at the end of a season 2 clans tie for 1st place in their division then a playoff (in week8) will be held to find the winner.

I hope all that's clear :) .. the full fixture list showing dates for the weeks and divisional listings will be up either today or tomorrow. However the times in the news post below are correct and will give you an idea of when you will be playing.

We also still need a few more admins for the q3ctf side of things .. if you're interested please mail us with your details here Cheers.

MLA Wins Q3CTF Showdown... Or Do They? - by Caitiri @ www.gamepig.com
Well it's over... in a manner of speaking. The Michigan Liberation Army / Clan Prediction CTF Showdown finals match got off to a good start. The first map, Courtyard Conundrum, was fairly standard, and although pings for several players were up 200-300ms, the match proceeded anyways. A very intense match that ProN managed to win 4-3.

A few roster swaps, a server crash, and some delays later, the server was switched to Bloodlust. Another very close match, MLA pulled off the win 2-1. This is where the match turned bizarre. Several ProN players quit, and Frost said they would have to play another night. MLA insisted on playing, and all but Badbear disconnected for ProN. The map was switched back to Courtyard Conundrum, and Bugzer played him 1v1 HPB style until Bugzer finally capped, then the rest of MLA joined and played out the rest of the map 4v1, winning 5-0.

I've heard it said that some members of ProN actually quit, which didn't help them, and I've also heard that MLA would reschedule the match. Will they keep ProN to the loss because their players all disconnected, or will they replay the final map? We'll keep you posted.
